Cox is latest to bring live TV online to the iPad - Entertainment - Television

Cox Communications is making live TV available on the iPad, with the release of a new app that lets subscribers watch shows and movies while in their homes. The Cox TV Connect app makes it the latest in a series of pay TV operators to extend their services to new devices.

Previously, operators like Cablevision and Time Warner Cable have launched iPad apps that bring live TV online to the tablet, as long as users are logged in and are connecting from their home networks. Other apps -- like one from Comcast -- let users authenticate an watch on demand content. Cox is taking the former approach with its app, bringing live TV to the app in user homes.

For cable operators like Cox, the end goal is to make as much content available on as many places as possible. Thanks to the availability of streaming video on new mobile and connected devices, consumers are increasingly demanding access to their favorite TV shows and networks regardless of the devices. "A screen is a screen is a screen," Cox VP of Video Strategy Steve Necessary told us in a phone interview.

While the Cox app is a step in the right direction, the selection of live TV online channels in somewhat limited today: The app has about 35 channels available for live viewing, out of hundreds of channels available to subscribers. Compare that, for instance, with Cablevision, which introduced its iPad app with all of its channels available at launch.

Necessary said that's because the company needs to negotiate rights with live TV networks before putting them online. Cox also needs to ensure that local broadcast content, or content that is subject to certain blackouts, doesn't appear in the app. Cox has operations in 18 different states throughout the country, so local content can vary by market.

This isn't the first app for Cox; it previously launched an application that lets users browse content and program their DVR from mobile devices. Necessary said that at some point the functionality from both apps will likely be blended together into a single application that handles both sets of functionality.

Live TV online is possibly one of the greatest innovations ever invented. It has revolutionized the way people think about watching live TV. Aside from the savings that one can get, employing this new method is empowering to TV fans everywhere in the world. There is no need to worry about paying monthly bills, no need to worry about poor signal or lost connection. Best of all, one can maximize the power of the internet to make this possible. Are you tired of paying hundreds of dollars a year just to watch television? Cable television services can drain your bank account faster than your heating bill and still leave you out in the cold when you want to watch something that really matters to you. If you have Internet access, you don't have to be shackled to an enormous cable bill. Free TV used to be a given. You plugged it into the wall, pulled out the "ON" button and got to watch the three or five or seven stations that were in broadcast range of your television set. The costs of developing the entertainment was covered by the advertisers we all invited into our living rooms as a tit-for-tat for the free entertainment. When cable television first came along, it had two big selling points: access to channels outside your broadcast area and no advertising. And we all understood that the lack of advertising meant that we'd have to pony up and put a little something in the pot. For areas where broadcast reception was sketchy at best, the cost of cable TV was worth giving up on free TV because, frankly, free TV was snowy and completely unwatchable. Cable gave us clean picture, amazing variety - the idea of thirty whole channels was amazing back then - and a choice that wasn't tied to advertising dollars.

Things have changed a lot since then. Now, most cable television systems offer hundreds of stations, including complicated "tiers" that allow customers to pick and choose movies, dozens of cable entertainment networks, channels that show old movies, news and political channels for political junkies, stations devoted to children's television and dozens of music stations devoted to all sorts of different types of music. And we pay a lot more for the services - sometimes a couple hundred dollars a month. We still can't access overseas stations, or broadcast stations outside our local areas, though - and despite the fact that we're paying hundreds of dollars a month, we still get all the advertising most people fled broadcast television to avoid.

Today, many people are turning to free TV on the Internet and turning off their cable for good. There are websites and services that don't even require you to have a TV tuner to view the latest TV shows, news, movies and sports events - you just go to a website and start watching. In addition, many newer computers come with a built-in TV tuner card so you can watch live TV online just as you would on your television set, and some of the best Internet services and software suites give you access to literally thousands of free TV shows on broadcast networks from all around the world. You can watch your local network news even when you're overseas, or tune into the latest television shows, news and political talk shows and more from anywhere you have Internet access.

If you're tired of paying for limited access - heavily controlled by your cable company and the government - and ready to see what the real world of free TV online has to offer you, check out some of the best Internet TV software packages available online. Free yourself from cable tyranny and watch live TV for free again.

Watch The Devil Inside (2012) Movie Online Free - Entertainment - Movies

Watch The Devil Inside (2012) Movie Online Free. The first words you see on this trailer is 'This is an actual 911 call..' it gives the date of the call as 30th October 1989. When you see this, the first impression you get is that the film is a true story, it is a documentary 'feel' about it. Lots of horror films are now following this type of production, for example the Spanish film 'REC'. 'The Devil Inside' is about a young woman, whose mother is confined to a mental institution for murdering three people. Apparently, she committed these murders because she is possessed by evil demons. Her daughter, Isabella Rossi played by Fernanda Andrade, sets out to find the truth about her mother's situation. When she visits her mother, she can see that her mother is not the person, she grew up loving. She is like a zombie, she has cuts, which look like little crosses all up the inside of her arms and she even has one on the inside of her bottom lip. Isabella decides to consult a pr iest about an exorcism and he invites her to witness a real exorcism, performed by him. His technique is different to others as he combines science with religion. Looking at the trailer, I would say this is definitely worth a watch!!! Brazilian born actress Fernanda Andrade has appeared in many TV series and films. She has been in the TV series; 'CSI: Miami' (2002), 'Fallen' (2007), 'Law and Order: Los Angeles' (2011) and 'The Mentalist' (2011). Watch The Devil Inside (2012) Movie Online

The Devil Inside, directed and co-written by William Brent Bell, is a documentary-style film about Isabelle (Fernanda Andrade), woman who goes on a quest to determine what happened to her mother, Maria Rossi (Suzan Crowley). Knowing her own mother wouldn't commit murder, she believes she may be possessed by a demon. As a result, Isabelle gathers a team to help her discover the truth behind her mother's disturbing incident.

The movie starts off in 1989 where a woman, Maria Rossi, dials 911 confessing that she has brutally killed three people. 20 years later, daughter Isabella travels to the Centrino Hospital for the Criminally Insane in Italy, where her mother is being held, to determine if her mother is mentally ill or demonically possessed. From there, she teams up with two young exorcists (Simon Quarterman and Evan Helmuth) to witness them perform exorcisms using unique methods that combine both science and religion. After a few trials, Maria was next on the list.

This is probably the first horror movie that will be released in 2012, and considering it's in the horror-genre, I won't be too harsh on the fact that there's absolutely no character development. The story is simple and so are its characters. You have the seemly possessed mom, the daughter looking for answers, the camera guy, and two exorcists. Everything was quick-to-the point, and the climax was not much of a finale. Everything just moved along in a steady-fast pace.

Though the pacing may skip on story development, we're not really here to care about the characters or a convoluted plot. We just want to see weird, disturbing demonic people act out and frighten us. So good news! Director Brent Bell does a fantastic job with the special effects and camera work to give us just that. The possessed mother felt really authentic and brought to life right before our eyes. There were other exorcisms done too and those looked great as well.

To be honest, I was a little disappointed with the main antagonist's acting. Fernanda Andrade had a very lazy, subtle tone from beginning to end. It didn't even seem like she was the daughter of Maria due to weak un-enthused performance. In fact, it was really the two exorcists that stole the spotlight because they actually made us believe that there's danger and something evil around us. Thumbs up to them.

The Devil Inside is like a mix between Paranormal Activity and Quarantine. The entire movie consists of first person views, brief interviews and multiple camera angles, which all worked great because it gave the audience a genuine suspenseful atmosphere. We see some pretty disturbing behavior and screams, which is great if you want to get that eerie feeling in the theater. I was on the edge of my seat for the most part anticipating what's going to happen next. Personally, nothing really got me jumping, except for this dog scene that got me to flinch (and so did everybody else). I'm not going to sit here and pretend that nothing scares me because The Exorcism of Emily Rose scared me so bad that it left me something disturbing to live with. This was nothing as disturbing as Emily Rose though, but it does a good job finding itself side by side with Paranormal Activity. In the end, I was happily entertained but I wasn't really pleased with the ending. Then again, I would love to see this become a franchise with a sequel in the works.

A 911 call is made in 1989 -- it's Maria Rossi (Suzan Crowley) confessing that she has just brutally murdered three people during an exorcism. Flash-forward 20 years: Maria, confined in a mental hospital in Italy, is visited by her estranged daughter (Fernanda Andrade), who hopes to learn the true nature of her mother's crime. The story centers on a woman who has been led to believe her mother brutally murdered three people because she was clinically insane. After being told the murders occurred during an exorcism, she sets out to discover the truth. While documenting her experience with a film crew in Italy, she becomes involved in a series of unauthorized exorcisms. Watch The Devil Inside (2012) Movie Online

Summary: In 1989, emergency responders received a 9-1-1 call from Maria Rossi (Suzan Crowley) confessing that she had brutally killed three people. 20 years later, her daughter Isabella (Fernanda Andrade) seeks to understand the truth about what happened that night. She travels to the Centrino Hospital for the Criminally Insane in Italy where her mother has been locked away to determine if her mother is mentally ill or demonically possessed. When she recruits two young exorcists (Simon Quarterman and Evan Helmuth) to cure her mom using unconventional methods combining both science and religion, they come face-to-face with pure evil in the form of four powerful demons possessing Maria.
